Chair Parks called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM. All members were present, including the Administrative Manager; Donna Rowland, of the Cooke City City Council was present as a member of the public.
Administrative Manager Bush presented the February meeting minutes. Secretary/Treasurer Stone moved to approve the February minutes, both the regular meeting minutes and the executive meeting minutes. Vice-Chair Dalling seconded the motion. Director Fuhrmann clarified how executive session minutes were handled. All voted in favor; none opposed. Motion passed.
Administrative Manager Bush presented the current expenses and financial reports for the month. Vice-Chair Dalling moved to approve the current expenses and financial reports. Director Fuhrmann seconded the motion. Secretary/Treasurer asked questions to clarify the Axilon Law statements. All voted in favor; none opposed. Motion passed.
In Old Business, Chair Parks reported that Bob Fuhrmann was the only candidate for the open Board seat, therefore he is confirmed. No actual election will be needed. He will complete the oath of office and get it to Admin Bush to send into Park County.
Secretary/Treasurer Stone updated the Board that work is underway concerning the 2021 Remit Form. Together with Admin Bush, Consultant Rebecca Demaree and the Districts’ accountant a spreadsheet has been devised to record all incoming tax monies, both at 3% and at 4% for this upcoming season. Next, together with Director Gerdes and Admin Bush we will work on the submission form for the website and will report back to the Board in April.
In other Old Business, Chair Parks asked the Board for opinions concerning late fees/late interest charged and/or seasonal versus monthly remittances. A discussion was had, with no formal motions or changes at this time.
In New Business, it was agreed to hold the District audit of 2020 on May 11th.
Also, Admin Bush will begin a draft of the spring letter for discussion at the April meeting.
In public comment, Donna Rowland mentioned that Cooke City is observing meetings of other resort districts in anticipation of changes to their own resort tax management.
The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 7:00 PM. This meeting will be another virtual meeting, via the Zoom platform. Director Fuhrmann moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 PM. Vice-Chair Dalling seconded the motion. No discussion was needed; all voted in favor; none opposed. Motion passed.
